Assessors Board

The board of assessors annually makes a fair cash valuation of all estates, both real and personal, subject to taxation within the city. The board determines the annual tax rate necessary to meet all sums voted by the city. The board hears and decides all questions relating to the abatement of taxes levied by it. The board has all of the other powers, duties and responsibilities which are given to boards of assessors by General Laws.

The board of assessors is an advisory and regulatory multiple-member body of the city.
