Art Gallery Exhibit

PURPOSE
Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Chelsea Cultural Council welcomes the opportunity to allow the community to use the exhibit area of Chelsea City Hall. The exhibit's goals are to educate, enlighten and enrich. Exhibits should reflect the culture and diversity of the City and its residents.

EXHIBIT SPACE DESCRIPTION
Hanging Artwork
Chelsea City Hall offers temporary space appropriate for small or medium hanging exhibits. The East Wing Gallery is equipped with track rods. This display system will only accommodate framed artwork. The Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs is responsible for providing the space, hanging display rods, and overseeing the use of the display system.

PUBLICITY
All publicity for exhibits at City Hall must be approved by Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs along with the Chelsea Cultural Council. Under no circumstance will an exhibitor send out their own press release without expressed written consent by Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs.

EXHIBIT REQUESTS AND APPROVAL PROCEDURES
1. Exhibitors must fill out all application forms and follow all submission procedures.
2. Exhibit requests are reviewed and approved by Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs and the Chelsea Cultural Council. If the exhibitor cannot meet the schedule agreed upon, Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs should be notified immediately so alternative arrangements can be made.

GENERAL
The East Wing Gallery is open to the public during normal business hours,
Mon., Wed., Thurs. 8am-4pm; Tues. 8am-7pm and Fri. 8am-12pm, except legal holidays.

East Wing Gallery Guidelines

Two-dimensional art or photography must be securely wired on the back. It is recommended that works on paper be framed and behind glass/plexiglass whenever possible. All art must be labeled on the back with artist's name, address, and phone number. Any work that does not look suitable for hanging will not be displayed. The maximum amount of artwork to be displayed is 10 pieces. This amount can be slightly increased depending on the size. 

The East Wing Gallery at Chelsea City Hall is a public space and the Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Chelsea Cultural Council reserves the right not to display work that is deemed offensive. 

Exhibit work must be received no sooner than 48 hours in advance of installation with the following information ready:
